STORY-BOARDING ;

↘ Character Introduction Board ; Lukas Braun, The Detective
During my time at indie game studio Serious Point Games, I was the primary storyboard artist tackling the first trailer scene: the introduction to player character Lukas Braun. I was tasked with creating the character sheet, expression exploration, and boards for the scene.
Tackling the boards by referencing rough sketches from the creative director, I had a couple points I needed to hit;
→ Establish main character motivations without the use of dialogue; Lukas is worn, desperate, but determined.
→ Give the scene a sense of dramatic air, as the event kickstarting the story, the board needed to be flashy and cinematic.
→ Effectively communicate the passage of time.

↘ “Galaxy” Board ; Guy’s Tweaking
Provided a script from “Galaxy Quest,” I was tasked with re-boarding a scene from it with my own interpretation. I took the opportunity to practice stronger shapes in my character designs and more expressive poses and expressions in the boards themselves.
→ If I were to pick favourite panels, I’d have to say it’s between 9A, 10A, and 12C— if I’d go back to them however, I’d probably leave a little more room on the edges of the frame.

↘ “AEROSOLE”
“AEROSOLE” is a short concept-realization animatic depicting a slice of a larger, colourful world.
AEROSOLE follows a group of taggers in alternate reality Neo-Chicago— putting great emphasis on freedom, creative expression, and youth. AEROSOLE strives to invoke the feeling of a fresh brisk breeze.
